I have been trying to understand the relationship (if any) between supermassive black holes and low-mass galaxies. In

Greene et al. (2010) we used megamaser disk galaxies to show that there is no strong correlation between black hole mass and bulge properties (Ronald Lasker is working on the bulge luminosities for these galaxies now using HST data).

 

We previously looked for correlations between black hole mass and galaxy properties for the smallest supermassive black holes known (e.g., Barth et al. 2005; Greene et al. 2008; Xiao et al. 2011; Jiang et al. 2012).
